Iowa City, Iowa (AP) — Caitlin Clark scored 20 points in No. 13 Iowa’s 92-54 win over Dartmouth Wednesday, becoming the fastest Division I player to reach 2,000 in a men’s or women’s game. You have reached a career point.
According to ESPN Stats & Info, Clark set a career record with his 75th game, joining former Delaware star and current WNBA standout Elena Delle Don for at least 2,000 games since the 1999-2000 season, according to ESPN Stats & Info. We got to the game quickly.
Clarke did just that, making his 242nd 3-pointer of his career. Iowa coach Lisa Bruder called a timeout to celebrate the moment.
The junior, who was unanimously named to the AP Preseason All-America team along with South Carolina’s Aaliyah Boston, had 10 rebounds and six assists as he led Iowa (10-3) to a fifth straight win.
Teammate Monica Zinano scored 1,969 career points in 98 games and scored 20 for Iowa. Martin had a career-high 13 assists.
The Hawkeyes scored 34 points in the first quarter and held Dartmouth to just 5 points in the second.
Allie Harland leads Dartmouth (2-11) with 11 points.
Iowa returns to the Big Ten game next week against Purdue and Illinois.
