Well, the Great Eight did it. Washington His Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin scored his career 802 goal at his arena on Friday night when the team collided with his Jets in Winnipeg. The 37-year-old currently dominates his list of all-time NHL goals.
After scoring career goal number 801 earlier in the evening to tie NHL great Gordy Howe, Ovechkin scored the NHL’s all-time record for an empty net goal with “Mr. Hockey” with 60 seconds remaining in the final frame. I finished second on the goal list.
