In a new development, former Cleveland Browns quarterback Joshua Dobbs will make his first career start tonight on Thursday Night Football. According to reports, Dobbs is starting in place of Tennessee Titans rookie Malik Willis.
The Titans will face the Dallas Cowboys tonight in a game on Amazon Prime. The Cowboys are a -13.5 point favorite over the Titans, much of which has to do with backup quarterbacks.
Dobbs stood out for Tennessee before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. Dobbs has appeared in six games in his career, but to this point he has not started a single game.
For most of this season, Dobbs was Jacoby Brissett’s backup until Deshawn Watson returned and was cut. Dobbs won the role when he made some plays in the preseason.
As smart as they come, this is good for Dobbs, who finally got his shot at the NFL starting.
