Cleveland Browns left tackle Joe Thomas will soon be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Thomas was as good as he got at left tackle throughout his career. All the losses he endured throughout his career have little to do with him.
Thomas spoke about the loss and how it affected his mental health on the recent Ken Kerman Show with Anthony Lima.
“Like being a fan, building yourself up that Sunday, week after week, Ken, just like I do now, I’m convinced that I think we are.” I’m going to win this game!”…it’s the mindset you have to adopt to get the most out of yourself as a professional athlete,” Thomas said of his preparation.
Thomas finished his career with a record of 48 wins and 128 losses. He was a left-side-out Ironman, and he recorded 10,363 straight snaps until an injury late in his career. The injury was ultimately the final straw as Thomas tried again and went into the broadcast. Since then, he has become popular in the world of broadcasting.
“Because as soon as you start thinking, ‘I probably won’t win,’ you subconsciously start making those decisions in a sport built with violence and big, tough, strong people going to great lengths to make it happen. They have 69 individual reps every Sunday,” Thomas said.
So you build yourself up and create this story in your mind. “Yeah, we have a chance. We’re going to win…” And I think everyone has some kind of story when it falls apart every week. It was the last season or two of my career. ”
Thomas has made 10 Pro Bowl appearances and been named to the All-Pro six times. He is arguably the best player the team has seen in modern times.not near
“There are moments in your brain that say, ‘Come to Jesus,’ and you feel, ‘I can’t fool myself anymore. I mean, for the first time, I feel like I’m out of control…”
