No.7 Coco Gauff won her first title of the season at the ASB Classic in Auckland, New Zealand, defeating Spanish qualifier Rebekah Massarova 6-1 6-1 in Sunday’s final. Her title is Gauff’s first since Parma in 2021 and on hard courts since her first victory in Linz in 2019.
Gauff’s straight-set win over Massarova capped off a dominant week for the 18-year-old American. She didn’t drop a set in her five matches and only she lost in 22 matches.
Playing as the No. 1 seed in Auckland, Gauff dealt with unpredictable rainy conditions throughout the week as he was forced to use indoor courts to keep the event on schedule.
However, the rain held up on Sunday and Gauff was ready to face No. 130 Massarova. After qualifying for the main draw, the 23-year-old Spaniard defeated No. 2-seeded Sloan his Stefans and Carolina Muchova to face Gauff for the first time.

The American has shown her quality and experience from the beginning. After rain delayed the start of the final, Gauff broke quickly in her first game and was set to serve at set point, so she built a 5-1 lead before the rain returned. I was.
But the slight delay wasn’t enough to cool Gauff. When the players returned to the court, Gauff served the first set calmly and made no mistakes in the second. Massarova scored five breaks of his points in the sixth game and had chances to put pressure on the American, but Gauff saved and broke them all to close out the win.
