Gentile scores career-high for Edinboro basketball | WETM

MANSFIELD, PA (WETM) – It was Elmira alum Morgan Gentile’s career day at the college game.

Gentile scored a career-high 22 points at Edinboro University in the Fighting Scots’ 83-63 win at Mansfield on Monday. The junior guard added eight rebounds and two assists on the day to help Edinboro (6-3, 3-1 PSAC) win. Jasmine Hilton led the Mounties with 17 points while Alyvia Peglow gave Mansfield 13 points (1-7, 0-5 PSAC).

Gentile has made five starts this season, making eight appearances for Edinboro. The transfer of St Bonaventure has proven to be a valuable offensive source on the court for the Fighting Scots. Previously, Gentile scored a season-high 12 points against Notre Dame, Ohio in November.

Gentile helped Elmira Express High School’s girls’ basketball team achieve elite status in the twin tiers before heading to St. Bonaventure in college. Morgan has moved to Edinboro and has made significant contributions to her programme. Gentile has already scored in his double figures in three games this season.

Edinboro’s next match will be in Bloomsburg on December 30th. Mansfield hosts Mercyhurst at Decker’s gym the same night.
