Here are five things I learned about Gipson Sr. and Hufanga.

Hufanga is known for his complicated handshakes with his teammates, but he needed to make some adjustments for his veteran opponent. The duo didn’t go into many details to explain the handshake as they hope fans will be watching it on the field.

Gipson Sr.: “I’m really old school. Huf is new school. He’s watered down, but I respect that… I can’t vent that energy, so Huf They adjusted it for me.”

Hufanga: “Yeah, if you look at our handshake, it’s pretty simple.”

Gipson Sr. joined the 49ers in late September, and the two have become close friends in the backfield over the past few months.

Gipson Sr.: “After a workout[in Minnesota]I cheered him up and gave him a hug. He probably won’t remember it, but that kind of thing, the energy Huff gave me , from day one, even in front of the pen” was in the papers before I was officially a 49er, but when I got here he was really welcoming… that’s what brother It was the beginning of love. ”

Hufanga: “For me, I was shocked at how much fun it was to play with him. It was a blessing for sure.”

Gipson Sr. and Hufanga were asked which teammates they would like to see styled on game day, and each had a player in mind.

Gipson Sr.: “There are a lot of guys with good swag, but I like Big Trent’s (Trent Williams) swag. He doesn’t overdo it.”

Hufanga: “Mooney (Charvarius Ward). Mooney approached me in the locker room and said, ‘Do you like my style?’ And I said, “Yeah, your style is fresh.” I replied, “Who?” And he said “I”. That was the mooniest answer. Have him style it.

Between Gipson Sr. and Hufanga, there are a number of career firsts in 2022, each detailing their favorite milestone.

Gipson Sr.: “It’s just a blessing to be able to do some feats in life…Obviously got Tom Brady’s ball, shout out to Dre Greenlow. He’s my I had a pick six. Drew Brees, it was my upper echelon and I need to replace it.”

Hufanga: “I was pretty turn on pick 6. But my favorite play of the season was last week (Week 15). It was something I did nothing but disguise.”

Winning the NFC West will be one of the highlights of the 2022 season for Gipson Sr. and Hufanga. They verbalized the joyous rocker celebration in his room for his podcast listeners.

Gipson Sr.: “The t-shirt and hat game, it’s the type of game you live in because these types of games don’t come around very often. When it does, you have to savor the moment. And man To meet us, a lot of players like Huf were able to experience it for the first time and be on that side of the spectrum, so I was able to see young players enjoying it and I was I am blessed as well.”

Hufanga: “No one told us we had shirts and hats. We were playing the game just for fun. We wanted to have fun, but the next time we showed up I had all these hats and these shirts in my locker and I couldn’t wait to take some pictures.
