James Harden and the Brooklyn Nets have had an incredibly ugly breakup and neither side seems to be over it. Said no. Now it looks like James Harden has thrown a subtle shade of his own.
In an interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Harden seemed to leave out the Nets when discussing his best career team.
“Of course,” said Harden. “Oklahoma City had some really good teams and Houston had a 2018 team, but this team is definitely my best chance to win.”
Very interesting remark by James Harden, given the timing. It’s been less than a week since Kyrie Irving threw a subtle shade of himself that didn’t directly mention James Harden’s name.

“Also, there are no half-hearted people in the locker room. The big picture is the main focus here.”
Harden is definitely on some good teams with a legitimate chance of winning the NBA Championship. The Houston Rockets are one game away from the NBA Finals and the Oklahoma City Thunder are two away from winning the NBA Championship. It was a victory. The 2021 Brooklyn Nets, who were clearly the best team in the NBA when he was healthy, suddenly collapsed in the NBA playoffs.
It’s understandable that both Harden and the Nets still have some feelings for each other, but it’s ridiculous to think that team couldn’t win the NBA championship. It was a great team to get ships, but at the worst possible time they got hit with an injury bug.
