Utah Jazz rookie Johnny Juzan hit a new career-high on Wednesday with six 3-pointers in the NBA G League loss to the Salt Lake City Stars against Grand Rapids Gold.
Juzan led the team with 28 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in a 110-100 loss at the G League Winter Showcase in Las Vegas, Nevada. He finished shooting 11/19 from the field in 24 minutes off the bench.
The UCLA undrafted guard scored 13 points in the fourth quarter alone and made 3 of his 6 total 3-shooters in that period. He also made some timely cuts on the court, leading to some easy baskets in contests.
The contest was his second return in the lineup with the Stars after missing a month due to a grade 3 sprain in his right wrist. He returned Monday to record 19 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists as the Stars lost to the Capital City Go-Go.
Juzan, who is on a two-way deal, has yet to appear in a game for the Jazz this season. He has played only in his league, averaging 16.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 3 points in his seven games with the Stars.
Now that he’s recovered from his wrist injury, it’s likely he’ll stay in Salt Lake City. .
