Koelling records 1,000th career point in Helias victory

st. LOUIS — Helias’s Adalyn Koelling said Monday night that the Lady Crusaders were 81-16 for her and Lindbergh in her tournament opening her round win over the Maplewood-Richmond Heights Blue Devils, making her career Passed her 1,000 points.

The junior coeling scored 1,001 points in his career as Helias recorded the first possession of the third quarter on a layup. She added her three points her play late in the quarter to take her to 1,004 and she finished with 24 in the game.

Coering had 12 points in the first quarter as Helias took a 26-5 lead. The Lady Crusaders scored his first eight points of the game and midway through the quarter he led 13-3.

The Lady Crusaders started the second quarter 14-0 and led 40-5. Coering had seven points in the quarter, including a last-minute three-pointer as Helias extended the lead to 47–10 at the half.

The Lady Crusaders led 67-12 after three quarters.

Claire Galbraith added 15 points to the Lady Crusaders. Ava Morris chipped in with 10 and Mikah Edwards finished with 9.

Maplewood Richmond Heights, the eighth seed in the tournament, are 6-9.

Helias, the top seed and No. 1 in Class 5, currently has 14 wins and 3 losses. The Lady Crusaders will face his MICDS, who beat Lindbergh 48-42 in the first round, in the semi-finals at 4:30 pm today.
