Local roundup: Winslow senior Jason Reynolds scores 1,000th career point

Winslow — Jason Reynolds scored his 1,000th career point for the Winslow High Boys basketball team with an 80-44 victory over Maine Central Institute in Winslow on Tuesday night.

Reynolds finished with a game-high 36 points for the Black Raiders (2-0) with 16 points from Andrew Pullin and 13 rebounds from Matt Quillion. Reynolds he made four of his 3-pointers.

Braeden Kennedy led MCI with 8 points (0-2).

Maranacook 68, Lake Region 62: Keegan McClure scored 17 points and Luke McLaughlin added 16 as the Black Bears (1-0) beat the Lakers (1-1) in the season opener.

Brandon Chilton, Brayden St. Pierre and Brayden St. Pierre added nine points each for Marana Cook.

Jackson Libby scored a game-high 23 points for the Lake Region, followed by Jacob Chadborn with 14 points.

Madison 79, Telstar 38: Callen Franzose scored a game-high 28 points for the Bethel Bulldogs.

Charles Davis gave Madison 15 points (1-0).

Wyatt Lilly paced Telstar (0-1) with 12 points and Evan Leach finished with 10 points.

Winthrop 79, Wiscasset 13: Colebird scored 15 points as the Ramblers (1-1) handled the Wolverines (0-1).

Braden Branagan and Carter Rivers each added 11 points to Winthrop.

Dylan Akers led Wiscasset 0-1 with 9 points.

women’s basketball

Brewer 49, Mesalonski 36: Ally Flag scored 18 points as the Witches (1-0) defeated the Eagles (0-2).

Gillian Ford and Jenna McQuarrie added 10 points each to Brewer.

Ashley Mullin led Mesronski with 15 points, and Keira Goldsmith added 11 rebounds and 4 steals.
