Van Ris is averaging 36 minutes per game this season and is the face of the women’s basketball program. During her time on the court, she’s averaging her 20.3 points per game, her season-high 28 points against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
Currently playing 16 games into her junior season, the 5-foot-7 guard has already carved her name into the college history books on numerous occasions. This season, she added to her list of achievements by recording her 1,000th career points.

Other accomplishments she achieved as a Cardinal include two ACC Freshman of the Weeks during her freshman season, All-ACC Academic Team as freshman, 2020-2021 ACC All-Freshman Team, ACC All-Tournament First Team, All-ACC First, etc. She was on the team as a sophomore, as a sophomore she was named the NCAA Wichita Regional Player of the Year, and she entered her junior season, reaching 9th overall on her ESPN Top 25 Players list.
