Baton Rouge – Angel Reese scored a career-high 32 points Wednesday night as the PMAC’s 11th-ranked LSU women’s basketball team (10-0) defeated Lamar (4-5), 88-42.
Reese finished with a career-high 32, breaking his record of 31 against Bellarmin in this year’s season opener. The move to Maryland also led the team with 15 rebounds. Reese’s performance secured his 10th double-double in as many games as he opened the season.
Freshman Frauje Johnson finished the night with 21 points and 8 rebounds. Johnson broke the 20-point margin for the second time in her career with her Wednesday night win, which she scored her 27 points against Northwestern earlier this year.
Jasmine Carson was the only Tiger to reach double digits.
Kateripur recorded a total of seven assists for a career-high assists tally. This is the 4th time I’ve reached 7 in the game and the first time I’ve done this in LSU.
The Cardinals were led by Sabrina Dean, scoring 15 and going 6-15 from the field. Portia Adams led the visitors with eight rebounds and was second with 14 points.
LSU will head to Maui, Hawaii over the weekend to face Montana State on Saturday and Oregon State on Sunday. The Tigers will be off on vacation before returning to baton his rouge ahead of the conference opener against Arkansas on December 29.
