Quarterback Joe Burrow will be eligible for a contract extension once the Bengals finish the 2022 season.

Given what the franchise has accomplished in the past two seasons, it’s no surprise that Barrow will head into next year with a lucrative contract extension.

The No. 1 overall pick in 2020, Burrow has helped Cincinnati to its highest level of success in more than 30 years. And he recently said that the Bengals’ famous championship his window will be his entire career.

Appearing on the Bengals’ flagship radio pregame show, team owner Mike Brown echoed this sentiment. But the quarterback’s second deal could make things more difficult when it comes to building a team around that quarterback, he added.

“He will have a long career. you here‘” Brown said via ESPN’s Ben Baby. “I think his potential is all over his career. The fact is that you can.

“That’s what people are referring to there. [Patrick] Mahomes and those guys seem to be making ends meet after they get payday.”

Burrow is already sixth on the franchise’s all-time list in both yards and touchdowns. At this point, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before he rewrites the club’s record books.

But one step for Burrow to get there is for him and the Bengals to agree to a long-term extension in the coming months.
