For the second year in a row, MxV Rail and Paragon’s Dutch Clark Digital partnered to create a unique exploratory program for Pueblo, Colorado students enrolled in a blended learning facility.

The program kicked off in January and will feature three or more guest speakers from MxV Rail and other local employers representing a variety of disciplines, including construction management, accounting, locomotive engineering, human resources, operations and emergency response. We provide one in a month. An overview of yourself, your career path, and employment opportunities in Pueblo and beyond.

Kari Gonzales, President and CEO of MxV Rail, a Pueblo native and South High School graduate, kicked off the series by telling students about her background and journey to CEO status.

“MxV Rail has been a part of the Pueblo community for over 40 years and giving back to Pueblo youth is important to me and our employees,” said Gonzalez. “We have been working with Principal Mestas for the past year and wanted to give students ideas about career options in Pueblo and the railroad industry. We hope that more students will consider Pueblo as a viable option for living, working and enjoying their time after high school.”

The series culminates in a direct field trip to the new MxV Rail headquarters at 350 Keeler Parkway and the newly constructed test and operations facility at PuebloPlex at Pueblo Chemical Depot.

“The Pueblo Works program is a great opportunity for students to hear first-hand from professionals about career opportunities in the Pueblo community,” said Rich Mestas, Clark Digital Principal, The Netherlands. “I spoke with some of the students attending and they shared that the speakers are inspiring and they are researching how to start their career journey. ”
