Philadelphia – Lamar Oden scored a career-high 19 points in Drexel’s 79-73 win over Hamptons at the Daskalakis Athletic Center on Thursday night. Justin Moore He added 14 points and a career-high seven assists as the Dragons remained undefeated at home in conference play.
Drexel (11-8, 5-2) held the lead all night, but the Pirates didn’t go away. The Dragons used a 9-2 run early in the second half to increase their margin to 12 points. Hampton (3-16, 0-7) minutes later he answered with a seven straight and with 12 minutes left he made it 51-47. The Pirates said he was able to make one-possession games three times in the last ten minutes, but each time Drexel was able to match them on points. In his third block of his shot, he passed Sam Givens to make him 10.th Placed on the DU carrier block. The Dragons finished the game with his 3-pointers on his eleven. This is his sixth time scoring at least 10 in a game this season. Overall, Drexel shot 49% of his shots from the floor.
Hampton’s Duce Dean led all players with 21 points. The Marquise his Godwin added his 19 as the Pirates dropped his 10.th・Straight game.
Drexel led 8–0 and never lost a contest. But Hampton seemed to have the answer to every Drexel run in the first half. The Dragons went 7-for-15 from deep in the first half, but Hampton trailed by just four at the break when Jordan Nesvett sank his 3-pointer in the second half.
Drexel will face longtime rival Delaware at Homecoming Saturday afternoon at the DAC. Tip-off is at 2:00 PM. The Dragons will be his last home game in January, and he has two games ahead of him at the end of the month.
