The 2022 season certainly didn’t go as planned, but there were many players who had outstanding years. Josh Jacobs led his NFL in rushing yards and Max Crosby recorded the most sacks in his young career.
Another player with a career in 2022 left a tackle for Colton Miller. By every metric, he improved as both a pass blocker and a run blocker. He’s always been a good player, but this year he’s taken his name to another level.

In a recent article by ESPN’s Seth Walder, he ranked the top 100 most valuable players of the 2022 season. This list includes some Raiders players like Max Crosby, Davante Adams, and Josh Jacobs. But it also included Miller, who was ranked 46th overall.
Here’s what Walder had to say about the veteran’s offensive tackle.
“In terms of numbers, this was Miller’s best pro season. Miller had never had an RBWR over 67% before this season.”
The offensive line as a unit has played far better than expected this year, and certainly managed to pick up some elite play from left tackle. Miller is only 27 and looks to be getting better with age.
The Raiders have many needs going into the offseason, but having a dominant left tackle makes the rebuilding process much easier.
