Sienas’ Seppala has career day against Saint Peter’s

Lowdonville, NY (NEWS10) – The Siena Women’s Basketball had a big performance Saturday against St. Peters, with freshman guard Teresa Sepala stealing the show.

The Finnish native scored a career-high 24 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 6-of-7 shooting from three-point range. After the Saints lost to Manhattan, Seppala said it really delved into her competitiveness and made her want to give a performance that bounced back in front of her home crowd.

“I don’t like losing. I want to use that as fuel to grow, learn from my mistakes, and be hungrier today,” Seppala said.
Interim head coach Terry Purim believes Seppala’s focus and dedication to work emulates the composition of this young squad.

“The fact that she can answer the phone when her number is called is great and I think it shows the mindset of our whole team,” Primm said. I think in the last few games some people interacted as leaders in different categories and I think that’s a really great team trait and our potential is really good in that respect and I just I love their attitude, I love the fact that she never quits. Even if she doesn’t have a good match or a good moment, she always comes back and is very easy to coach.

The Saints will face Fairfield on Thursday, January 19 at 7:00 PM.
