THREE SKYHAWKS FIRE CAREER-HIGH SCORES IN SPRING RIFLE OPENER AGAINST MURRAY STATE


Martin, Tennessee – The University of Tennessee Martin Rifle Team kicked off the spring portion of the 2022-23 schedule today at the Skyhawk Rifle Range against Ohio Valley Conference rival Murray State University.

The visiting racers took 4,716-4,554 wins, but UT Martin delivered many outstanding individual performances. Alaina Walther He led the Skyhawks in total scoring (1,162 points), air rifle points (career-best 590), and smallbore scoring (572). Victoria Petersen He also established a new career high with an air rifle scoring 579 points. Jeffrey Brassa Achieved a career-best 564 small-bore score.

UT Martin scored 2,245 points on the small bore this morning.Walther’s next team high score Joey Kovac (566), Nick Fares (565), Jesse Chamberlain (542) and Petersen (532).

The Skyhawks scored 2,309 points on the air rifle. After Walther’s career-best effort, UT his Martin got solid performances from Fares (577), Kovach (571), Brassa (571) and Chamberlain (565).

The regular season concludes with two home games next weekend, with the Skyhawks on Saturday, January 21, and Memphis on Sunday, January 22, as hosts. Both games start at 9am.
