Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars had a fight nobody expected against the Cowboys in Week 15. When Jacksonville took on Dallas, Lawrence had one of the best games of his young NFL career. I had one.
At the end of the fourth quarter, Lawrence completed 26-of-40 passes for 307 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He fumbled late in the game, but Lawrence’s electric passing attack helped the Jags come back from an early deficit.
Dallas led 14-0 early in the second quarter. Lawrence threw the first touchdown pass of the day to Zay Jones, but Jacksonville were still trailing 21-7 heading into halftime.
At the 3:57 mark of the third quarter, Trevor Lawrence begins his magic. He led three straight drives that ended in passing touchdowns. He found Jones on a 59-yard grab with Marvin Jones 10 yards out and Jones again scored 3 yards.
Lawrence fumbled late in the fourth set, but scored a last-second field goal to lead the Jaguars. Now they’ve made him one of the best teams in the NFL overtime. Lawrence’s play in the second half proved he was not willing to lose without a fight.
It is possible that Jacksonville will make the playoffs, but it seems unlikely. Still, they seem to have found a future quarterback in Lawrence.
