It is well known how special the 2023 Notre Dame Recruitment Class is historically. A member of that talented group, the Irish staff have put together one of the nation’s top wide receiver groups, including pass catchers. jayden greathouse, Braylon James, Rico Flores Jr. When Caleb Smith.
Despite missing the 2023 All-American Bowl while rehabbing from a leg injury, Flores Jr. still traveled to San Antonio. Attending the event was his lifelong dream and Flores is still grateful for the opportunity.
“It feels good,” said Flores. “It feels good to meet all the highly rated players here.
“It’s been something I’ve wanted to do since I was little, when I started playing,” continues Flores. “I couldn’t play, but it’s great to be here and fulfill my dream.”
Flores’ senior year was cut short in the provincial semi-finals due to a leg injury, and Folsom continued to play their best football. The California star has regained his health and taken on new challenges to help Notre Dame next season, and his recovery is going well so far.
“It’s going well,” Flores said. “I’m certainly ahead of schedule. I’m sorry it happened, but it’s just a small setback for a big comeback.”
As an early registrant Flores will have the opportunity to compete in the winter and try to make his mark at Springball. i am ready.
“I’m really excited,” he explained. “Many doors are opening and I am looking forward to getting to work.
“I just want to be the best man and player I can be,” continued Flores. “Of course, I want to make a big impact on Freshman All-American. No one owes me anything, so I have to work for that.”
The wide receiver group for 2023 has already created some great bonds. Flores isn’t the only pass catcher looking to make an early impact. We will work together.
“We are already looking forward to it,” he said. “A lot of great wide receivers come in and they all have the same goal. And then I come in and I’m ready to take over. We’re excited.”
The same is true for the entire hiring class in 2023. A group that Flores believes has the potential to go down in history.

“From top to bottom, we are going to be special,” said Flores. “I hate to say it yet, but I think we will be the best class to walk Notre Dame.”
